I have tried two different Bluetooth Speakers and my Razor Basilisk X HyperSpeed mouse. From what I can tell it is because the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter (802.11 bgn (1x1) + BT4.0) only has drivers for Windows 8?! Bluetooth looks as though it is working but it cannot find any bluetooth devices, well none that I have tried thus far anyway. However, the only problem I seem to be having (so far, fingers crossed) is that bluetooth is not working properly.
However I have had a renewal of interest recently and am on a mission upgrading some of my old devices and with a new battery, a new HDD and a clean install of Windows 10 Pro it is like a brand new machine that's holding it's own in 2022! In the dialogue box that opens, choose 'Browse my computer for driver software', then direct it to the folder that you just unzipped (probably located in your downloads folder). Click on the driver tab, then click on the update driver button. The battery eventually died so I gave up on it altogether. Find your ar3012 under network adapters, right click it, and select properties.
After the Restore it would only make it as far as Windows 8.1 and then it was unable to install the cumulative updates and would stop at 99% before reverting all the changes. I have a Samsung NP350V5C-S0CAU Notebook which I got in 2013 and when I utilized the free Windows 10 upgrade something went very wrong so I ended up having to do a 'Restore' back to Windows 8.
